Through this new commission young British artist Georgina Starr draws together a variety of her ideas and techniques to create Tuberama. Part musical, part train journey, part cartoon, this mix of songs, animation, model trains and painting takes you on a trip to a world where the fantastic is only just around the corner. This lively and colourful book – brilliantly reminiscent of the Blue Peter annual – examines different aspects of Starr’s work and includes images of previous work.
Exhibition catalogue to accompany the 1998 Tuberama show held at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham in 21 March – 24 May 1998. Illustrated throughout with colour photographs. Bound in original pictorial boards. No dust jacket as published. Library marks to first few pages, final page and base of spine, otherwise clean and tigh.
